Hiking in Bansin
on Usedom
The island of Usedom offers you numerous opportunities for hiking and walking. You can get active to your heart's content on over 400 kilometres - for example along the cliffs to Koserow; into the Achterland towards Mellenthin or to the small fishing village of Kamminke, which lies on the Szczecin Lagoon.

Bansin - Mümmelkensee - Bansin:
11.3 km
Description: Start from the hotel in the direction of "Langer Berg" (54 m high), turn left shortly before into the nature reserve and follow the signposted path to Mümmelkensee. You will pass a viewing platform with a view of the lake.
You then cross the main road, walk past the Schieferberg (40.7 m high) and the Schmollensee in the direction of Forsthaus Fangel. From there, your tour continues to the two Krebsseen lakes to Neu Sallenthin (from the Krückenberg you have the opportunity to visit the "Sieben-Seen-Blick" viewpoint). The route now takes you back to Bansin Dorf and then you follow the Fischerweg to the hotel.

Usedom town - Welzin - Stolpe - Usedom town: 12.4 km
Description: The route takes you from Usedom town (Usedom church, local history museum in Anklamer Tor, Schlossberg and the harbour) through the town forest to Stolpe. In Stolpe, you will pass the medieval fieldstone church and Stolpe Castle.
The trail continues across meadows and fields towards Welzin. If you are lucky, you may also spot local animals (buzzards, seagulls, swans and wild ducks) as well as the cheese dairy. From Welzin, the path continues in the direction of Ostklüne, but turn right onto the dyke after the cemetery.
Cycling &
Bike hire
There is a wide range of cycling options in Bansin. After all, there are around 200 km of cycle paths to choose from.
Tip: Why not cycle along the coast to Peenemünde or in the other direction to Ahlbeck, continuing through forests and meadows to the fishing village of Kamminke on the Little Lagoon - a great nature experience! But a trip to the island's hinterland is also always worthwhile - despite the slight differences in altitude.
