Tip: You can also combine different excursions and do a round trip. On your way to the observation tower, for example, the Rauener Steine, two huge boulders from the Ice Age, await you just a few minutes' walk from the tower.

Rauener Berge observation tower

Just a few kilometres south of Bad Saarow, the Rauener Berge tower out of the Mark Brandenburg landscape - with their 45-metre-high observation tower as a highlight. From the top, the view extends far over forests, Lake Scharmützelsee and as far as Berlin.
How to get there:
From the centre of Bad Saarow or the aja Hotel, drive or cycle in the direction of Rauen / Fürstenwalde Süd. The car park "Aussichtsturm Rauener Berge" is located directly on the L35 road (about 10 minutes by car). From there, a well-signposted forest path (approx. 15 minutes on foot) leads up to the tower. Hikers and e-bikers can also easily reach the tower: you can set off from Bad Saarow directly through nature via forest and woodland paths - around 6 kilometres, slightly uphill, but with a beautiful view as a reward.

Excursion to Fürstenwalde

A small cathedral city with history, culture and relaxed city flair - Fürstenwalde on the River Spree is just a few kilometres from Bad Saarow. Stroll through the old town, discover the imposing St. Mary's Cathedral or stroll along the Spree promenade with its cafés and boutiques. Particularly practical: you can easily reach Fürstenwalde by train from Bad Saarow - the regional train runs several times a day and takes you directly to the centre in around 15 minutes. Ideal for a spontaneous trip without a car.

Storkow with castle & lakes

Between water, forests and history lies Storkow - a charming little town just 15 minutes by car from Bad Saarow. The centrepiece is Storkow Castle, whose origins date back to the 12th century. Today it houses a visitor centre for the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park, an exhibition about the region and regularly hosts small concerts and markets. Numerous lakes and nature trails around the town are ideal for walking, cycling or swimming. Particularly beautiful: the view from the castle of the surrounding water landscape and the historic houses of the old town.
