Information for dog owners

In the aja Travemünde dogs are very welcome! When making your reservation, please let us know that you are travelling with your four-legged friend so that we can prepare everything for you.
There is a surcharge of €25 per night for your dog, and one dog is allowed per room.

We are happy to provide a dog blanket and a bowl so that your animal companion feels comfortable. Please understand that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, bar and spa area.

A walk on the beach with your dog

A walk on the beach is simply part of every holiday in Travemünde with a dog! The best time for this is in the early and late season - all the beaches in Travemünde and on Priwall are also open to dogs.
However, between April and October (subject to change), dogs are not allowed to be kept on a lead on the resort beaches during this time.

The Travemünde promenade invites you to take a leisurely stroll all year round - perfect for relaxed walks with your dog. Along the promenade you will find bins for poo bags so that you can enjoy a carefree walk together.There are also beautiful wooded areas around Travemünde, such as the Brodtener Steilufer - ideal for short walks with sea views and plenty of exercise for your four-legged friend.

Travemünde has its own dog beaches where you and your four-legged friend can enjoy the sea together. Here you can sniff, romp and splash around - a holiday to suit you both.

Dog beach on the Priwall peninsula

Between the third beach access and the beach chair zone, the dog beach on Priwall invites you to swim and play together. Fine, white sand and direct access to the Baltic Sea await you here - perfect for dogs who love the water. You can easily reach the beach with the Priwall ferry or via the mainland. Toilets are close by and there is a car park around 700 metres from the beach.

Dog beach on the Brodtner Ufer

The dog beach at Söhrmanndamm is located around 100 metres behind the former Mövenstein bathing establishment - a real insider tip for dog owners. The natural beach impresses with its quiet location and unspoilt charm.The dog bathing jetty, which leads directly over the large boulders into the sea, is particularly popular - perfect for all four-legged friends who love the water. A lead is not compulsory on the beach, so your dog can run and romp freely. Toilets are also available.

Dog beach in Niendorf

The dog beach in Niendorf is located directly at the entrance to Niendorf harbour - a lovely place for relaxing hours by the sea. The beach is well maintained and you can even hire beach chairs here during the season.The spa promenade and the small park "An der Acht" are just a short walk away. The narrow section is separated from the other beach areas by a fence, so your dog can run around safely. There are toilets and a snack bar nearby.
A trip to the Niendorf bird park is also worthwhile - although a lead is compulsory there.

Good to know

In the low season from November to March, dogs are allowed on all sections of the beach in Travemünde and on Priwall.
