The history
of the house

Beyond the kitchen and the outdoor dining area, the Stroblhaus Werfenweng harbours a fascinating history that is closely linked to the development of the entire valley:

Traditional timber construction: a typical Pongau farmstead in the log-cabin style, built from local softwood.

The dawn of tourism: Werfenweng’s first guest rooms were established here in the 1950s.

A little-known historical gem: among the first holidaymakers were not only well-known families of professors but also a real Russian countess.
