Yoga retreats at aja

Breathe in, breathe out – this fundamental aspect of yoga is much easier to practise amidst the fresh mountain air on an aja holiday than amidst the stresses of everyday life at home. On our yoga retreats, you’ll finally find time for yourself again. We combine active flows and relaxing sessions with a break where the mountains are always part of the experience. That’s the aja way of doing yoga.

What is yoga?

Yoga originated in India and combines physical exercises with breathing techniques, meditation and spiritual teachings. Practising various postures, known as asanas, improves strength, balance and flexibility. However, yoga is more than just physical strengthening; it is a holistic philosophy of life that aims to foster greater mindfulness, conscious presence in the here and now, and improved harmony between body and mind.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about our yoga retreats

What is a yoga retreat?

A yoga retreat offers you a break from everyday life, with plenty of exercise, relaxation and time for yourself. Over several days, you can look forward to yoga sessions, meditation and breathing exercises, complemented by workshops and free time to unwind or explore.

At aja, you’ll also get a good dose of mountain air. Between yoga on the mat and time out in the mountains, you can recharge your batteries, find peace and simply clear your head. Whether you’re new to yoga or a long-time practitioner: you can take part at your own pace.

Who is a yoga retreat suitable for?

A yoga retreat is for anyone who fancies a break from everyday life, whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or already have some yoga experience. The sessions cater to different levels and can be tailored to suit you.

Can I take part in a yoga retreat if I’ve never practised yoga before?

Yes, of course! Our yoga retreats are suitable for all levels, even if you’ve never set foot on a mat before. The exercises are tailored to the group and their varying levels of experience. This means you can take part at your own pace, completely at ease.

What are the long-term benefits of a yoga retreat?

Yoga, meditation and deliberate breaks give you the chance to wind down, recharge your batteries and clear your head. You might even take one or two exercises or a new routine home with you – for a little more relaxation in your everyday life.

Which aja Hotels offer yoga retreats?

Yoga retreats with Svenja Kunde are currently planned at aja Ruhpolding and aja Bergresort Werfenweng. At aja Ruhpolding, you can choose between a weekend retreat or even a whole week of yoga.
