Diving gondola Grömitz

One of Grömitz's highlights awaits at the end of the 400 metre long pier: the diving gondola. It looks a bit like a UFO - and takes you on an exciting journey below the surface of the water. For around 40 minutes, you descend into the Baltic Sea to just above the seabed. There you will discover the mysterious underwater world with all its inhabitants - an experience for the whole family! Fehmarn Belt Tunnel

Fancy a trip where, in a few years’ time, you’ll be able to say, ‘I was already there whilst it was still being built’? It takes about 45 minutes to get to Puttgarden on Fehmarn via the A1. The world’s longest immersed tunnel is currently under construction there, stretching 18 kilometres beneath the Baltic Sea all the way to Denmark. From the viewing platform on Marienleuchter Weg, you can look straight down onto the construction site through your binoculars. By evening, you’ll be back on the beach in Grömitz.
