For your trip from aja Nordperd & Villen Göhren to the Königsstuhl, you should choose the car, as this is the most relaxed route. Allow about an hour for the journey to enjoy the island's beautiful avenue road at your leisure.
Can I take a boat to the chalk cliffs on Rügen?
Yes. Seasonal boat trips depart from the pier in Göhren, travelling along the chalk coast as far as the Königsstuhl. The round trip takes about 5 hours and passes Sellin, Binz and the Jasmund National Park. Although there’s no stopover planned at the Königsstuhl, you’ll get to enjoy the impressive chalk cliffs from a unique perspective out on the water.
Is it possible to visit the chalk cliffs without barriers?
Yes, since the opening of the new Skywalk, the view of the Königsstuhl has been completely barrier-free. The National Park Centre is also modern and well equipped for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Can you visit the chalk cliffs on Rügen in winter?
Absolutely. The Rügen chalk cliffs in winter have a very special charm. It's much quieter, the air is crystal clear and the contrast between the white snow (if there is any) and the white chalk is magical. The National Park Centre is also open all year round.
How much time should I plan for the excursion?
We recommend that you plan at least half a day. This will give you enough time to visit the centre, enjoy the Skywalk and perhaps hike along the high bank trail to fully absorb the significance and beauty of this natural setting.
