Unternberg ski area

The Unternberg is just a few minutes away from aja Ruhpolding - ideal for a spontaneous day of skiing. Steinplatte/Winklmoosalm

A real highlight for winter sports fans: the Steinplatte on the German-Austrian border offers over 40 kilometres of pistes and a panorama that will leave you in awe. From wide leisurely runs to sporty slopes - there's something for everyone here. And best of all: sun, snow and Tyrolean mountain views included.

Westernberg

The Westernberg ski area is located directly in Ruhpolding - perfect for beginners and families. Here the little ones can practise their first turns while the older ones enjoy the day on the gentle slopes. Short distances, little hustle and bustle and lots of winter fun.

Maiergschwendt

Cross-country skiing

Ruhpolding and the Chiemgau region offer you perfect conditions for your cross-country skiing adventure. A free network of 130 kilometres of cross-country ski trails starts directly in front of the aja Ruhpolding. The trails also lead past our Three Lakes area to Inzell and Reit im Winkl.

Cross-country skiing courses
Our wish fulfilers offer you cross-country skiing courses for beginners and advanced skiers directly at the aja. You can also hire cross-country skiing equipment (skis, boots and poles) directly at the aja. The Skialm in Ruhpolding has more courses on offer for you.

Winter hiking in the Chiemgau

Simply set off on a hike and enjoy nature - that's exactly what you can do at aja Ruhpolding. Stomp through the snow on a snowshoe hike (flat or hilly) and discover the most beautiful corners of Chiemgau. More challenging tours, e.g. to Unternberg or Haaralm, are also possible. You can hire snowshoes and poles directly from the resort.

The Ruhpolding ice rink is open from October to March. Here you can not only go ice skating, but also try your hand at curling. However, prior booking is required.
