Information for
dog owners

Dogs are very welcome at aja Ruhpolding! Please let us know when you make your reservation that you are bringing your dog with you so that we can prepare your stay accordingly. There is a surcharge of €25 per dog per night. One dog is allowed per room. We are happy to provide a dog blanket and a dog bowl for your four-legged friend. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, bar and spa area.

Travelling with a dog in Chiemgau

Golfers can take their dog with them to the golf course right next to our hotel. Dogs are allowed on the course, as well as on the Adventure Golf Park. Dogs are also allowed to visit the Ruhpolding leisure park. Dogs are also welcome on a short lead at the Holzknechtmuseum Ruhpolding. Admission for four-legged friends is free. The open-air museum provides information about the life and work of lumberjacks.

Kneipp path

The Kneipp circular trail starts at the Egglbrücke bridge near St John's Evangelical Church and leads along the old railway embankment on the banks of the Traun river through the picturesque Miesenbach valley towards Zell. During your hike, you will pass various Kneipp stations dedicated to the principles of water treatments, herbalism, lifestyle, nutrition and exercise.

Hike over the Unternberg

The Unternberg is the local and leisure mountain in Ruhpolding. The starting point of the hike is the Chiemgau Arena. From there, you walk along the stream and through shady mountain forest via the Brander Alm to the Simandlmais Alm. From the summit of the mountain, the route leads via the Unternberg Alm and the Boider Alm back down into the valley. The destination is the Unternbergbahn valley station - from there you can take the bus back to the centre or continue on foot.

Rauschberg and strings

This scenic circular hike to two peaks impresses with its beautiful paths and trails as well as the views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Chiemsee. Both you and your dog should be sure-footed and in good physical condition . From Schmelz (municipality of Inzell), the route takes you via the Salzalpensteig and the beautiful Knappensteig up towards Streicher. From Hinterer Rauschberg you hike back to the car park.
