Around 500 kilometres of marked hiking trails lead you through the impressive landscapes of the Karwendel and Rofan mountains - perfect for anyone who loves the mountains. Whether it's a panoramic alpine hike, a leisurely tour along the lake or a challenging ascent to the 2,457 metre-high Sonnjoch - the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Achensee accompanies you everywhere.

Leisurely hikers also get their money's worth here: the combined lake and boat hike combines nature experiences and panoramic views in a special way. And the car-free western shore is a wonderful place to stroll through quiet bays and along sunny paths.

Up the Zwölferkopf

A tour for all those who love the mountains: Around 500 metres in altitude lead you up to the Zwölferkopf - ideal for experienced hikers and can also be combined with the gondola if desired. From the aja Fürstenhaus on Lake Achensee, follow the path to the Rodlhütte, where you can take a short break after around three kilometres. Once you reach the top, the terrace of the alpine inn rewards you with Tyrolean specialities and a breathtaking view over the emerald green waters of Lake Achensee. And if you like, you can then take the Karwendel mountain railway back down to the valley.

From Pertisau to Achenkirch via the Gaisalm

A real classic on Lake Achensee! The hike from Pertisau via the Gaisalm to Achenkirch runs directly along the lake and delights with magnificent views. The Gaisalm - only accessible on foot or by boat - is the perfect place for a panoramic break. The trail leads along a rocky path, so good footwear is a must. You can return to Pertisau in comfort on the Regiobus 9550 or by boat - making the tour an all-round successful experience.

On the bear's head

This tour has it all: 1,000 metres in altitude separate you from the summit of the Bärenkopf, but the view is worth every effort. The ascent starts in Pertisau and first leads along the contemplation trail, where you can experience some of the 18 stations. After a refreshment stop at the Bärenbadalm, you continue along steep paths, forests and open terrain up to the summit. Once at the top, the view of Lake Achensee opens up - so impressive that you almost feel like you're in Norway. The way back is mostly along the same path.

Summer mountain railways

From May to October, the summer mountain lifts at Lake Achensee take you comfortably to lofty heights - perfect for all those who like to start at the top when hiking, climbing or biking.

The Karwendel mountain railway takes you directly up to the Zwölferkopf in Pertisau. At 1,480 metres, a panorama awaits you that is guaranteed to amaze you and the next mountain hut is never far away.

The Rofan cable car departs from Maurach - your ticket to spectacular summit tours in the Rofan mountains, up to an impressive 2,299 metres above sea level. A real highlight is the Airrofan Skyglider: at up to 80 km/h, you float 200 metres down from the Gschöllkopf - an adrenaline rush for the brave and an exciting spectacle for those who prefer to watch.

Cycling tours around Lake Achensee - out and about on two wheels

Whether you prefer a leisurely ride along the shore or a sporty ascent - perfect conditions await you around Lake Achensee for your biking holiday in Tyrol. The region is one of the top areas for mountain bikers and is a member of the Tyrolean mountain bike specialists and part of the Bike Trail Tirol.

Around 250 kilometres of officially approved cycle and mountain bike routes await you between Karwendel and Rofan - from easy routes with lake views to challenging tours in the high mountains. Whether you are looking for pleasure or a challenge, you are guaranteed to find your favourite route here.

In summer, e-bikes are available at the aja Fürstenhaus am Achensee, which you can reserve for the following day from 18:00 - for €39 per day. You can safely park your own bike in the ski and golf room, which you can easily reach via the hotel entrance in the underground car park.

Panorama trail circuit - relaxed and active around Pertisau

Perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy nature without pushing themselves to their limits: The panoramic trail around Pertisau combines exercise, views and enjoyment over just twelve kilometres.

The starting point is right on the shores of Lake Achensee. From here, you follow the cycle path along the glistening water - always with a view of the surrounding mountains. After short stops to take a deep breath and marvel, the route continues through the Zwölferkopf and into the idyllic Dristenaubachtal valley.

Back in Pertisau, the tour ends comfortably at the Langlaufstüberl. And if you want to round off the day in style, stop off at the aja Fürstenhaus on Lake Achensee - culinary highlights with a view of the lake await you here.

Pleasure tour on the Achensee cycle path - between water and panorama

Turquoise-blue waves, clear mountain air and a cycle path straight out of a picture book: the Achensee cycle path is ideal for those who prefer to enjoy themselves rather than pedal. The flat route takes you through impressive landscapes - always alongside the lake.

Start in Pertisau, follow the promenade and enjoy the view of Tyrol's largest lake. At the southern end of Lake Achensee, where aquatic plants line the shore, a particularly beautiful view of the glistening blue awaits you. Continue along steep rocks and a wooden railing to the eastern shore - and, if you wish, take a relaxing boat ride back.

In between, small bathing spots invite you to take a refreshing break.

To the Weißenbachalm - into adventure on two wheels

The 17-kilometre tour to the Weißenbachalm at an altitude of 1,600 metres is a little more athletic. From Lake Achensee, the route initially takes you leisurely along the cycle path before climbing steeply into the Weißenbachtal valley after around five kilometres.

Once you reach the top, wonderful views and two rustic huts - the Weißenbachalm and the Bärenbadalm - await you. The way back via the tunnel trail leads along steep paths with spectacular panoramic views. Back at the lake, the reward is a must: a dip in the water or an enjoyable detour to the aja Fürstenhaus am Achensee.

Two golf courses await you around the aja Fürstenhaus am Achensee: an 18-hole course in Pertisau and a 9-hole course in Achenkirch. As a hotel guest, you can play with a 20% green fee discount. Right next to the aja Fürstenhaus, you can hire rowing boats, pedal boats or electric boats from May to October and discover Lake Achensee from the water.
